“How is discrimination shown in Roll of Thunder, hear my cry?”

P1: Discrimination is shown in Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry is when Cassie said to Mr Barnett that they’ve been waiting for nearly an hour and got no rights and Mr Barnett, in addition he called them niggers. Cassie was inside Mr Barnett’s store. He ask everyone “whose little nigger is this.” This shows discrimination because it insinuates that Cassie is a possession not a human being.

P2: Another discrimination is shown in the book is when Cassie bumps into Lillian Jeans Simms and tells Cassie to apologize but she refused to do it. Then her dad comes and pushed her off the side walk and demanded her to apologize. Big Ma comes and tells her to say “sorry.” Cassie had just come from the store. Big Ma says “apologize, do as you say.” This shows discrimination because the way the white people treated the black people badly when they pushed her off the side walk.
